DISCOVER RECICLOS – THE APP THAT REWARDS YOU FOR RECYCLING
A project for Ecoembes.
This project was a fun challenge: creating a how-to style animation that explains how to use the recycling machines connected to Ecoembe’s Reciclos app.
These machines let users recycle bottles and containers, earn points, and exchange them for rewards. The animation plays in a continuous loop on the machine’s screens, so it had to be clear, quick to understand, and visually eye-catching.
From character design to the final animation, I handled the entire creative process in just two weeks. I sketched in Procreate, animated the character in Pixel Studio, and assembled the full piece in After Effects.

To create a looping tutorial animation that clearly and engagingly explains how to use the recycling machines connected to the Reciclos app. The animation is displayed directly on the screens of these machines.

The client requested a 8-bit video game aesthetic, turning the act of recycling into something that feels like playing a game. The challenge was to strike a balance between informative and playful.
I designed characters, UI elements, and the overall look and feel inspired by the energy of classic arcade games. -

I explored several character designs until landing on the right arcade-inspired style.
Despite the tight deadline, both the client and I were very happy with the final result. -
I really enjoyed turning a simple action like recycling into a fun and engaging visual experience. Playing with pixel art allowed me to deliver a direct and upbeat message—clear, dynamic, and easy to connect with.
